WHAT IS THE MUSEUM? AND WHY DID WE START IT?

Since our humble beginnings in 2011, we’ve now created over 2000 unique, original limited-run designs. In recent years more and more wonderful fans and collections have reached out asking for us to provide a complete catalogue of designs. Some are interesting in completed their collections of specific themed ranges, or specific designs which have been recoloured many times. Others are just interested in the history of the label. For those who first requested this of us, you’ll know that we’ve been talking about working on this for a very long time. Well, finally 10 years after we released our first brooches into the wild, they all have space online to call home, and you have a way to browse them all! 

When are new collections added to the Museum?

New ranges on ERSTWILDER.COM will be listed in the museum between 90 and 120 days after their official launch. We will email all Museum subscribers to advise them of new additions.

Why aren’t scarves, enamel pins and essentials listed in the museum?

Building the Erstwilder Museum has been an enormous undertaking. To ensure we could open the Museum without further delays we opted to start by featuring the products we launched our label with, the products which are nearest and dearest to the hearts of most community members. We will look to add other products to the Museum in future. 

WHERE CAN I FIND A SOLD OUT DESIGN?

Oh gosh. Unfortunately, in most cases, you probably can’t! The further back in the catalogue you do the less pieces were made of each design (generally) so many are very hard to find at this stage. If you enjoy ‘the thrill of the chase’ you can start by checking out our STOCKIST LIST or joining the ERSTWILDER SHOP LOCAL GROUP on Facebook and ask there. 

I have an account on ERSTWILDER.COM. Does that mean I have a Museum Account too?

No. The Erstwilder Museum is a separate website dedicated to the collating of information related to our designs and releases. You will need to create your account here separately too.

Can I shop from the Museum?

No, the Museum exists to offer information and insights around designs and ranges. It is not a ‘shopping’ website. Please visit ERSTWILDER.COM for your shopping pleasure!

HOW TO USE THE MUSEUM?

There’s many things to play with and explore in the Erstwilder Museum. Here’s a few fun suggestions: 

1. Vote to bring back your favourite designs in future ‘Fan Favourite’ collections.* 

2. Add and remove items to and from your virtual collection to keep track of everything you have in your home.* 

3. Explore ranges released by year, or designer, to make sure you’ve completed your collections. 

4. Filter to see every version we’ve ever done of Waldo the Wacky Wise Owl, or Schnauzer & Klaus.   

*You’ll need to have created an account in the Museum to do these things! 

WHY DO SOME DESIGNS NOT HAVE A STORY?

You’re likely familiar with the fact that all Erstwilder designs come complete with a character name and short story. This is true of almost all designs, though, in the early days, when we were still working out exactly what Erstwilder was, and was all about, not every piece had a story to accompany it.

HOW DO I GET FEATURED ON THE MUSEUM?

Do you have an interesting, or heart-warming Erstwilder story to tell? Are you an avid collector with an impressive assortment of pieces? Perhaps you’ve collected every edition of a design we’ve often recoloured? Maybe you have every cat! Or ever travel-related piece? If you have something to share, and you’d love to be ‘in the spotlight’ with your own Erstwilder Museum exhibition please complete this FORM. We can’t wait to meet you.

WHY CAN'T I ADD MORE DESIGNS TO MY WISHLIST OR ACCOUNT?

Currently, the website can only save up to 250 designs at a time in the wishlist and account section respectively. We hope to improve this feature in the future.
